About the role

You will be providing high quality first-line IT support to employees and customers across the following key areas:

  • Providing helpdesk support for customers both remotely and in person,
  • Carrying out routine changes to IT systems following established procedures, e.g. setting up and retiring users, configuring new hardware, assigning and unassigning licences, changing access rights,
  • Diagnosing and rectifying software and hardware issues reported to the helpdesk, escalating issues that cannot be resolved to other team members or external suppliers as appropriate,
  • Working with suppliers to source computer consumables and equipment.

About you

As our IT Helpdesk Engineer, you will have a keen interest in all areas of IT and ideally you will have some technical background in a similar role within an IT department. You will have a formal IT qualification such as Level 4 Diploma for ICT Professionals or equivalent.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and an approachable manner in order to provide an efficient service, especially when under pressure. You will have keen interest in computer support and a rounded knowledge of PC hardware and be looking to build and expand your technical knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 networks as well as applications such as MS Office. We want you to have a desire to learn whilst being passionate about IT and customer service, and continually looking to improve the quality of support throughout the business. 

You will need to have a flexible approach and be prepared for ad-hoc travel and occasional out-of-hours working to facilitate systems availability, and an ability to prioritise tasks and manage time.

This role is based in our Hatfield office, but we are currently working from home with a requirement to be in the office once a week.

  • A salary between £17,778 - £19,693 per annum (depending on the experience and qualifications) for the right candidate;
