About the role
In this role you will support the operation and implementation of the Sheffield City Region (SCR) International Trade strategy focusing on the core markets of India, China, USA and Europe. This role will increase the export activities of companies in the SCR by coordinating activities with specialist agencies, the Department for International Trade (DIT), Local Authority partners, companies and local agencies. You will have experience and knowledge of working in the Asian markets including India, China and the Far East with a comprehensive understanding of the business climate, culture and practices. You’ll ideally be educated to degree level, preferably with relevant qualifications (e.g. Project Management), however practical experience is more important and a prerequisite. What we offer
This is a full-time, peripatetic role on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2021 (with the potential to extend further).
This role will be a secondment between EGS and the Sheffield City Region Trade and Investment Team, so you will need to work flexibly in accordance with policies and procedures to meet the operational needs of the SCR Trade and Inward Investment Team. You must be able to undertake travel, both international and national in connection with the post including multiple nights away from home.
