If you’ve answered “yes” to these questions the role of International Trade Sector Proposition Developer/Researcher (Export Analyst) could be for you.

About the role

This role will contribute to the achievement of export targets by conducting research, developing sector propositions and creating briefing materials.

In this role you will assist the work of our International Trade Advisor network by;

  • Undertaking research to assist in the selection and prioritisation of export markets for technology sector focussed initiatives
  • Providing research for overseas trade missions and trade shows, including virtual events.
  • Producing reports, sector propositions, communications and briefing materials which enable us to connect effectively with, and make targeted propositions to businesses in the Yorkshire and Humber region who operate in the following areas: Agritech & bioeconomy, Financial & professional services, Technology, Smart Cities & advanced manufacturing, Renewable energy, Healthcare & life-sciences, Environment & circular economy.
  • Analysing export markets, provide information on routes to market, possible barriers, market regulations, FTAs, customs fees, licenses, labelling and packaging requirements, political and economic risk and overall ease of doing business;

About you

You will be a researcher/analyst with detailed knowledge of and a proven track record of sector insight of Disruptive Technologies (which include the following thematic areas: Agritech, Fintech, Health Tech, Lifesciences, Digital Content, Enviro/Green/CleanTech/Circular Economy, Connectivity/Robotics, Big Data/AI)

In addition, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A great team player with good communication skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels.
  • Good report-drafting skills, with consistent attention to detail as reports will be written for readers in high level positions;
  • Knowledge of some or all of the following: Data Science, Marketing, International Trade, with an awareness of how data can be exploited successfully to create greater value for DIT and client businesses by turning it into meaningful insights;
  • Broad knowledge of business operations and contemporary international trade matters
  • Awareness of aspects of export support available to businesses from local, regional and national providers;
  • Proficient IT user with experience of using Word, Excel, Outlook. You will have experience of using specialist software packages to analyse data.
  • Most importantly you are able to develop rapport with colleagues and clients.

This is a full time temporary role until 31 March 2021 based in our Barnsley office although we are currently working remotely due to Covid-19.

  • The salary of up £29,000- to £31,370 for the right candidate
