EU Transition Information Adviser

About the role

In this role you will contribute to the successful delivery of the Hertfordshire Growth Hub Service (HGH) by supporting business survival, growth and development in Hertfordshire.  

You will be the first point of contact for businesses in respect to the EU Transition, taking clients through an initial interrogative diagnostic to identify suitable sources of provision either from the HGH EU Transition Service or the wider Hertfordshire Business Support Ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and engaging with SMEs that will be affected by the EU Transition in terms of (but not limited to) import/export, workforce, GDPR, regulation and compliance, intellectual property;
  • Undertaking a preliminary analysis of information and development needs with clients using diagnostic tools processes and complete referral to our team of EU Transition Advisers;
  • Providing clients with information, advice and guidance appropriate to their needs;
  • Undertaking follow up activities with businesses supported, to ensure that the referral made was appropriate and to understand take up of provision as well as any further support needs.
  • Ensuring that all client information is captured and recorded in line with existing procedures and that full details of interactions, information provided, referrals made etc. are recorded in such a way that enables others to fully understand the nature of engagement and service provided;
  • Keeping abreast of EU Transition/business issues, trends, legislation, regulation and opportunities and share best practice with colleagues and other teams as appropriate;

About you

We are looking for someone with extensive sales and customer service experience in a busy environment, who is confident in taking clients through an initial diagnostic to understand business needs and challenges in order to identify suitable sources of provision.

You will also need to have/be:

  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, although commensurate service delivery experience and business knowledge are more important.
  • Demonstrable experience of telephone-based business support;
  • A basic understanding of business operations and experience in providing support to SMEs and Social enterprises;
  • Awareness of aspects of business support available from local, regional and national business support providers;
  • A comprehensive and practical understanding of the needs and dynamics of pre-start, new and established SME’s and an in-depth understanding of all the key functions of establishing, managing and operating an enterprise;
  • Experience of using IT/Customer Relationship Management System (CRM), data entry and recording of client details;
  • A team-player with the ability to diplomatically, competently and effectively engage/communicate with people at all levels (internally and externally);
  • Ability to handle multiple client and internal demands in both a quality and timely manner.

This is full-time fixed term contract until March 31, 2021. This role would normally be based in our Hatfield office, although we are currently working remotely due to Covid-19.

  • The salary of up to £25,375 for the right candidate;
