About the role

This role is based in our team delivering the Innovate UK Edge services to businesses across the East of England region. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of contracts and prepare timely and accurate reporting to external and internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the preparation and interpretation of departmental financial reports, departmental budgets and forecasts and submitting financial claims to key contractors;
• Monitoring time spent against the various projects to ensure contracts are on track;
• Working with colleagues to ensure the maintenance of activity audit evidence for the department’s key contracts;
• Working in collaboration with colleagues to contribute to the continued improvement of internal processes and procedures for key contracts, ensuring that they are designed in line with Exemplas policies and funders regulations.
• Keeping up to date with the contract funders guidance and regulations, to ensure that contractual compliance is met;
• Overseeing the department’s responses to ad hoc data requests from internal and external stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of financial reporting, budgeting and monitoring. You will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of project working, preferably in a similar role on similarly funded contracts.

You will also need to demonstrate experience or knowledge of:

• Writing and presenting narrative reports and interpreting and presenting data in the form of reports and briefing papers for internal and external customers;
• Scenario planning to plan ongoing delivery and to inform the development of future services;
• Online reporting platforms including those related to funding (e.g. IUK Connect platform and the EC’s Funding and Tenders portal);
• Working in a busy office environment dealing with multiple demands at a time;
• The use of CRM platforms and associated reporting tools.
