Leadership and Management Specialist Advisory Service
Ensuring that small businesses are supported in developing these leadership skills, and with the ultimate aim of facilitating business growth, the Leadership and Management Specialist Advisory Service (LMSAS) was set up in 2005 to support leaders and managers in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Since the establishment of the LMSAS, Exemplas has led partnerships delivering this initiative in London, Yorkshire and Humberside, and the East of England, helping over 20,000 small business owners and leaders to grow their businesses and contribute to the growth of the local economy, by providing:
- A fully-funded confidential Personal Development Plan, linking personal development needs to the growth requirements of the business.
- A fully-funded matching service linking training needs with potential training providers (if required).
- A fully-funded referrals service, putting business owners and leaders in touch with other sources of business support.
Identifying both formal (eg qualifications-based) and informal (eg coaching or mentoring) training needs; business leaders can then receive reimbursement of up to £1,000 for these provisions*.
Working in partnership with Reed in Partnership in Yorkshire; and with Ixion, Reed in Partnership, Triangle and Prevista in London; Exemplas was the only organisation in the UK to gain two Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funded LMSAS contracts in 2008, and we will be delivering these until 2011.
