Leadership & Quality Framework

With an increasing emphasis on the need to access – and optimise – the skills of all employees, assessing the management capacities within your Trust is a crucial step in developing tomorrow’s health care leaders.

Focusing on Leadership

With research highlighting the relationship between management and the provision of care, the importance of assessing and monitoring leadership capabilities has never been clearer.

“Spotting and developing confident leaders is a priority for us all if improving quality is our shared purpose”

David Nicholson, Chief Executive Officer, NHS

Trusts need to be assured that their employees have the right skills to meet the demands of the job, and that training needs are identified and addressed efficiently – and cost effectively.

Developing your Workforce

Supporting NHS Trusts to make sure that their leaders and managers are equipped to meet the political and financial pressures in a challenging climate, Exemplas has been working with a Specialist Hospital Trust to develop a bespoke Leadership Development Questionnaire (LDQ) to ensure that workforce investment is targeted, relevant - and real value for money.

Drawing upon national management standards, as well as the key competencies demanded by the NHS’ Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) and Leadership Quality Framework (LQF), the Exemplas LDQ is an online diagnostic which accurately identifies training requirements in relation to:

  • The individual and their personal development needs
  • NHS priorities, strategies and management frameworks
  • Nationally recognised management standards and best practice
  • Trust’s specific objectives and demands.

Drawing upon Exemplas’ expertise in Training Needs Analysis (TNA), the Exemplas LDQ supports NHS Trusts to ensure that training budgets are directed on a needs basis for maximum impact, providing the crucial first step in developing your manager’s leadership skills and preparing your Trust to meet the objective of quality care for all.
