Why we developed TalentKey™
Research conducted by the UK’s Talent Foundation established that most of the barriers faced by organisations wishing to survive and grow are fundamentally “people based”.
The following barriers in particular were identified:
- Lack of a shared big picture
- Lack of real staff engagement
- Problems with integrity and openness
- Blockages to doing quality work
- Recruitment and skills
- Poor delegation and empowerment
- Reluctance to take risks and be creative.
- Ineffective or difficult working relationships
The barriers derive from individuals’ responses to work, colleagues or their boss, conditioned by a series of internal limiting factors which people place upon themselves. Many of these barriers are interconnected and reinforce one another.
Additional barriers may be created in times of change.
TalentKey™ is aimed at dismantling barriers by focusing on an individual’s assumptions about themselves, their colleagues, their work and their manager. Once those “limiting thoughts” can be managed properly, the individual is in a position to give much more of themselves – their skills and talents – to their employer.
