This new project is funded through Europe via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and designed to support SME businesses in the East of England.
The primary objective of the project is to help organisations to reduce their carbon emissions by between 10% and 20%.
The project gives businesses high quality, knowledge-based environmental advice, broken down into 4 phases:
Audit, (a complete diagnostic of organisational culture), action planning, advice and assessment of your carbon footprint.
This is achieved by providing environmental advice and consultancy from a range of specialist and experts in the Green Potential team. Eligible SMEs will receive up to 14 person days of specialist and tailored consultancy.
In addition to providing the free consultancy, participating organisations will have preferential access to the wide range of Green Potential services.

CUBE
This project draws together partners to research, design and construct a series of compact homes of a maximum 3 metre cube in size. These will take the form of stylish, compact and energy-efficient homes which utilize modern technologies.
The project is funded through the University of Hertfordshire’s Collaborative Innovation Fund (CIF) which supports joint initiatives between business, public sector and universities.
Specialists in the fields of environmental sciences, interior design, industrial and product design, psychology and engineering will work collaboratively on the project. They will produce an energy-efficient micro-home which will provide accommodation for a single person or a couple.
The CUBE will generate much of its own energy and only require sources of cold water and electricity to function.
